Kaacha Dhan Oil Products (KDOP)

The perfect combination of purity & quality at no compromise

Our story begins in 2005 with a light-hearted conversation amongst friends about the strong but aromatic smell of menthol. A humble industrial unit was acquired and machines installed for the manufacture of menthol crystals from locally acquired menthol flakes.

As our insight deepened in the menthol oil business there was a shift from manufacture into strengthening our relations with perhaps the most important in the supply chain of menthol oil, the farmers. The aim was to give the struggling farmers a face and allow for their hard work to be translated into profits for all.

The natural fragrance ingredient market is currently valued at 5.3 billion USD. India is poised to command about 40% of the global market by 2024. This indicates an impressive projected growth trajectory of approximately 12% in five years.

Our Mission

We are proud of our roots! Punjab is our motherland and no one can deny its credentials, not even on an International level. It is perhaps unsurprising that the British wanted to rule over this land knowing that it was rich and precious in more ways than one.
Unfortunately, until now little effort has been made temporally or otherwise to reinstate this once sovereign state. Punjab has always had a deep connection with farming. Our mood of thinking is that no one wins unless the farmers are also winning.

Up until recently, the unsustainable methods being used to farm have been ignored by the major international buyers and have left farmers uncertain of the health of their land and their future.

By investing on the ground to help farmers we wish to improve the future not only of Mentha farming but farming in general. In the coming years we wish to move towards sustainable organic farming, which has seen a huge impetus internationally. The benefits of organic farming are profound, perhaps the positive effects on the soil being the most obvious and advantageous.

We understand that disgruntled farmers have a negative affect on quality and productivity which in turn impacts upon business relationships, deliverability and of course, profits.

Although in domestic markets the oil produced in Punjab has significant standing for its purity and quality, Internationally the picture is rather disparate.

We want to change the image of India and its ‘Dirty and smelly oil’ into one of true reflection. We challenge the domestic and international markets to the production of high quality and pure Mentha oil to rival that of Punjab’s!
