Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)

Kaacha Dhan Oil Products believes that social responsibility is not something which should require legislation to enforce its implementation. Interestingly, India is the first country to mandate and quantify CSR expenditure via the Companies Act 2013.

The need to invest in socially and environmentally relevant causes to enable the interaction and operation with concerned parties is something inherent to our company.

Our corporate philosophy has a sound foundation based on the concept of our Spiritual Guru. We believe that it is only by asking for the prosperity of all that we ourselves, can prosper. In Punjabi this is called “Sarbat Da Bhala” and something we pray for on a daily basis.

Socio-economic and environmental issues affect us all, so it only makes sense that we take these seriously and not only because of legislation so dictates.
Our corporate activities have been streamlined in a socially, economically and environmentally viable way so as to enable us to fulfill our CSR goals.

This has been achieved via the following:

Engaging members of the local community

We have learned through our several years in business that before it is possible to engage members of the local community it is imperative to understand the makings of the community. This involves mapping the entire soft and hard infra-structure extending to key individuals of the surrounding area but also including micro-populations. This understanding enables us to establish links and maintain working relations with the entire community providing value to each and every member.

By using “Socially Responsible Investment” (SRI).

Crucial to the social and economic welfare of society is a responsible investment. Through our ties with the community at large, we identify local projects, fund raising activities and other social projects of worth to ensure we make a difference whether big or small. We have understood that even personal presence and non-monetary investment can have a significant impact sometimes amounting to greater than a monetary contribution. We make it a point to dedicate our time to all worthy causes.

Developing an amicable relationship with employees and consumers

We at Kaacha Dhan Oil Products have a firm belief that employees are the engine and consumers the fuel of a business. If the engine is serviced well then the maximum output can be expected. As a result, the fuel allows for the uninterrupted opportunity to excel. In short, we keep our employees satisfied so they keep our clients content.

Engage in actions which are protecting and sustaining the environment.

It is well known that Punjab is both densely populated and one of the largest provinces of India. Punjab contributes a significant proportion of the overall GDP towards the ever-growing economy of India. However, a negative side-effect of this growth has been the ever-increasing pollution levels. Industry emissions, vehicles, power generation, open trash, and crop burning are just some of the causes of this pollution.
Only a holistic approach to business can sustain in the long-term. Our business is intimately related to the environment and so it is our duty to play our part in protecting and sustaining the environment. From going virtually paperless, utilizing e-billing, staff training, strategic fuel economy implementation, carbon footprint reduction, we strive to give back as much as we can to the Earth that provides us with so much.

We would like to add that we are in absolute agreement with the great Sir Winston Churchill who once said that there was little point in living if one were not actively involved in striving for noble causes. The world is a muddled place and if everyone contributed even a little whether it be money, time or both it would make for a better tomorrow.

We would like to leave you with a great quote by Sir Winston Churchill which summarises what we at Kaacha Dhan Oil Products feel about the importance of giving.

“We make a living by what we get,
But we make a life by what we give.”
– Sir Winston Churchill
